Once again the Treaty 7 Management Corporation Stampede Breakfast was a smash success! It was well attended by Chiefs (both current and former), Council Members, Nation Members, Provincial and Federal government folks and members of the general public.
The Treaty 7 Management Corporation staff worked diligently to serve the 300+ attendees their bacon, eggs, sausage and pancakes. Thank you for providing the coffee, Tim Hortons!
Honourable Len Webber, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, was honoured with the name Kiááyo ("Bear") given to him by our own Elder Andrew Weaselfat (Blood Tribe).
Our CEO, Ryan Robb, or Ninastakaa ("Chief's Helper") took part in a headdress transfer ceremony conducted by Former Chief Reg Crowshoe (Piikani Nation)!
Blackfoot Confederacy, headed up by Leo Wells, performed the songs during the ceremony.
Marty Wildman treated everyone to a roping demonstration followed by a roping challenge.
Our very own Elvis, Bobby Narcisse, managed to make some of the ladies swoon!
There were many happy faces thanks to the great weather, awesome food (so we were told), exceptional teamwork, lots of excellent entertainment and fun door prizes.
Hope to see you all at our next Stampede Breakfast, Friday July 13, 2012! Yahoo!Did you attend this year's breakfast?
