The Off Reserve Homeownership program is now accepting applications. The applications are now available on the Treaty 7 Management Corporation website at www.treaty7.org .
Now in the final year of the off reserve program, the Treaty 7 Management Corporation (T7MC) will be delivering the “Homeownership Program” to the off reserve members within Treaty 7.
The program allows Treaty 7 members the opportunity to receive a grant in the amount of 10% or a maximum of $ 20,000.00. The grant is none repayable should the approved applicant reside in the housing unit for a minimum of 5 years.
General Information on the Program.
The Chiefs of Treaty 7 have initiated this program to assist the Treaty 7 members obtain housing off reserve.
- You must be a first time homebuyer
- You must qualify for a mortgage
- You must produce a fully executed Residential Real Estate Purchase Contract
- The name of the solicitor for the seller;
- Evidence of mortgage approval
- Evidence of property insurance
A committee will be established to review and approve applications based on the criteria set out under the Province of Alberta’s “Conditional Grant Funding Agreement” and guidelines established by the “Treaty 7 Management Corporation” geared to assisting Treaty 7 members wishing to obtain a grant for homeownership.
